The first of my Communicate Better! series of workshops is this coming Saturday, April 1, 9–11:30 a.m. at Ruston Artisans, 203 W. Alabama Ave., Ruston, La. The cost is $30. The gallery and gift shop is open 10–5 Wednesday and Thursday and 10–4 Friday. Stop by or call 318-254-3322 to register for the workshop.

The subtitle of my workshop is “Keeping it Fun and Easy.” And it can be! So if you have been putting off starting a blog because you think it will be drudgery, come and find out that it does not have to be.
Topics we will discuss include: Context, The Big Picture, Make it Worthwhile, and Anatomy of a Blog Post. For that last section of the presentation, I will do a detailed analysis of one of my own blog posts to demonstrate how the research-based guidelines presented in the first three sections come together in a single post.
BTW, I produce two blogs, both of which have more than a thousand subscribers, and I contribute to a third, so I have lots of material to draw from. Moreover, I taught this subject to undergraduates for 10 years.
So come on out Saturday. The coffee pot will be ready. We’ll have fun and learn a few things. And maybe you’ll be inspired to sign up for one or more of my three additional Communicate Better! workshops: Illustrating Professional Communications, Writing for the Ear, and PowerPoints that Work.
Best wishes! Wonderful idea to offer such workshops!
