Not me, sorry to say. I’m being good and staying home.
But one of my all-time favorite pieces, Red Flags Over Atlanta, will soon be on the road again, this time to New Bern, North Carolina to the 2020 Bank of the Arts National Juried Show.

The Craven Arts Council of New Bern owns an historic, turn of the century former bank building, hence the name “Bank of the Arts.” I would love to see this piece featuring a contemporary high rise construction site in that setting, but… not likely to happen in this time of pandemic.
An interesting facet of this exhibition is its “Ekphrastic Poetry Competition.” Poets will create original compositions inspired by the artwork in the exhibit, and a reading of those poems will be part of the Sept. 11 ArtWalk Reception.
You might recall that Red Flags Over Atlanta was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 27th Emerald Coast National Juried Arts Exhibition. The Bank of the Arts show offers a total of $5000 in awards. Sure would be nice to bring home a little piece of that!
The show will run August 11 through September 12, 2020. Bank of the Arts is located at 317 Middle St., New Bern, NC.
