Go online!

These are trying times. The Masur Museum in Monroe, La., closed a few weeks ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Yesterday, Easter Sunday, it sustained tornado damage.

Thankfully, no one is hurt. Some outdoor sculptures blew over but the artworks are all safe. So… this is not a whine! Rather, I am deeply grateful that in trying times, we can think outside the box and do things technologically that were not possible not so long ago.

The Masur’s 57th Annual Juried Competition is available online. You can take a virtual tour here.

Be sure to do two things while you are there: 1) Honor me by looking for my piece in the Mezzanine Gallery. It’s on the right in the screen capture below.

2) Vote for the People’s Choice Award here.

And since you can’t see my piece very clearly in the virtual tour, here it is again:

Red Flags over Atlanta, by Bette Kauffman

You can read what I have to say about this piece and related works in this blog post: In the Masur!

Happy Eastertide and happy virtual touring to all!
