This week I’m delighted to ship two works to the 2020 City of Overland Park Art at the Center Juried Exhibition. The show will be in the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center at 11902 Lowell Ave. in Overland Park, KS.
Both works have appeared in previous juried exhibits. “Take Flight” was first invited to Art Flow 2019 in Baton Rouge, La., then this year was selected for the January Group Show at the Jones Gallery in Kansas City, Mo.

I attended the opening reception for the January Group Show in Kansas City and the highlight of the evening was when a couple stopped in front of “Take Flight” and engaged in animated conversation, the man pointing at various things in the photo.
I could not resist joining them, and, as I expected, the man was experienced in construction and was using my photo to explain an aspect of the process to his companion. What fun! Nothing is more gratifying to me than to produce an image that connects with people and draws them in.

“Untitled (Union Station)” debuted in an online competition called “Drink & Click®, then in early 2019 was selected for the annual Emerald Coast Regional Juried Exhibition, conducted by the Mattie Kelly Center for the Arts at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.
The 2020 City of Overland Park Art at the Center Juried Exhibition will run from April 3 through May 31, 2020.
