River Arts, Inc. of Prairie du Lac, WI, is conducting its 4th Biennial Wings & Water exhibit, and my “Green Herons (Butorides virescens)” will be there!

This is the fourth shot from my trip to Costa Rica this past summer to make it into a juried show. That’s special!
To make it even more special, the Wings & Water exhibit asks each artist to submit a statement about each invited work. That means I’ll get to tell the story of this shot, how a baby heron survived an encounter with a roadside hawk because of the immediate, fierce action of its mother. You can read it here.
The Wings & Water exhibit will be up January 23 – March 20, 2020, at River Arts Center, 105–9th St., Prairie du Sac.
The Jones Gallery in Kansas City, MO, has invited me into its January Group Show. My construction site piece, “Take Flight,” will be on its way before the end of the month.

This invitation is a celebration of “seconds,” the second time I have been invited into a Jones Gallery show and the second time “Take Flight” has been invited into a juried show. So… there’s nothing “second best” about these “seconds”!
One more thing that’s special about this invitation: I will join my art in Kansas City for the opening of the show. It’s not often I can get away, or can afford to go, for that matter, but the Jones Gallery asked that artists come to the opening as part of their invitation to submit. So…. excuse me while I go plan my trip!
The January Group Show will run January 2 – 30, 2020. The Jones Gallery is located at 1717 Walnut St. in Kansas City, MO.
