You might not have noticed, but I photograph people, too! It’s not that I don’t enjoy photographing people. It is that I’m a bit shy about it, plus always concerned about being a nuisance. So it always helps when hard hats notice me lurking around a construction site with my camera and spontaneously strike a pose for me! That’s how Say “Cheese?” happened. The theme of the show is “New Beginnings” and it is the first show of a new online photography venue called World Photo Club. Of course, I applied! Two of my examples of “new beginnings” were accepted for the show. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know I love details and this show gave me an opportunity to show off detail shots. Pawpaw leaves actually get quite big, but these brand new barely unfurled leaves at the end of a twig really caught my eye. Online art shows have taken the art world by storm! Las Laguna Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA, always has both brick & mortar and online versions of their shows. “You came all the way from Louisiana for this opening?” The questioner was a staffer at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown, NY. “Yes,” I said, and by way of explanation, “What you are doing here is my heart beat.” My piece in the “Art That Matters: Interconnectivity” exhibit is right up front, the second or third piece you’ll see walking into the exhibit. …you just gotta go! June 27 I’m heading to Jamestown, NY, for the opening reception of an art exhibit at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute. The show is called “Art That Matters to the Planet 2023: Interconnectivity,” and it includes my piece, Ghost Dancers.
