You can take the girl off the farm…

Maybe the reason I have trouble driving past farm machinery working the fields, grain elevators, and grazing livestock without stopping to take pictures is because I grew up on an Iowa farm.

Tin Man March

Whatever the reason, I have been an intrigued observer of Louisiana agriculture since I moved here, and have intermittently, between other fascinations, photographed it. By now, I could do an entire show of Louisiana Agriculture, and indeed I would love to do that, but… where? What kind of venue would be interested in an agriculture show? If anyone has any ideas, let me know!

In the meantime, I do look for and occasionally find an opportunity to submit agriculture shots. The Firefly Artists of Northport, NY, are celebrating “Great Cow Harbor Day Weekend” with an exhibit called “pARTy ‘Til the Cows Come Home.” Tin Man March was accepted and shipped out of Monroe today for Northport. The show will be up in the Firefly Artists gallery at 90 Main Street in Northport September 1 through September 30.
